The ocean98.org domain has had several lives.

OCEAN98 (from about 1997)

The domain first hosted OCEAN98, a multilingual educational project about oceans and coasts built around an expedition, active around 1998, the International Year of the Ocean.

A content blog

Later, the domain was used for a general content blog.

Parked

After that, the domain sat parked for a period.

Today

The current site is a new, independent reference to US recreational beaches. It is not run by, endorsed by or affiliated with the former OCEAN98 project or its organizers, and it does not continue that project's content.
